Enrolment & availability
What ages do you care for?
We care for children from infancy to 12 years old across five groups: infants (0–18 months), toddlers (18 months–3 years), preschool (3–4), kindergarten-age children (4–6) and out-of-school care (6–12).
Do you have space for my child?
Openings change month to month and differ by age group. The quickest way to find out is to check availability with your child's age and start date. We'll reply with what's open, or how our waitlist works for that group.
Do you have a waitlist?
When an age group is full, we can add your family to our waitlist and contact you when a space opens. Ask us about it when you check availability.
How do I enrol?
Start with a tour or an availability check. If there's a space, we'll walk you through registration and the paperwork. See our enrolment guide for what to expect.
Can I visit before enrolling?
Yes, and we encourage it. Book a tour to see the rooms, meet the team and ask questions. You can also take our virtual tour first.
Fees & funding
How much does daycare cost?
Fees depend on your child's age group and schedule. In Alberta, licensed daycares that receive provincial affordability funding charge a flat parent fee of $326.25 a month for full-time care. Call us or ask a question for our current rates, and see fees & subsidies for how funding works.
Is there a subsidy for before- and after-school care?
Yes. Alberta's Child Care Subsidy Program helps families earning under $90,000 a year with children in full-time kindergarten to grade 6 in licensed care outside school hours. You apply through the Alberta Childcare Family Portal. Our fees page explains it.
Daily care
What are your hours?
Please call us at 780-986-6848 for our current hours. We're happy to talk through your work schedule.
Are meals provided?
Yes. We serve a hot lunch, cooked in our own kitchen, and an evening snack. Tell us about any allergies or dietary needs when you enrol.
Do you offer transportation?
Yes. We provide transportation to and from school, and pickup and drop-off from home. Ask us on your tour how it works for your address and schedule.
How will I know how my child's day went?
We share updates through the Lillio app, so you can see photos and notes from your child's day while you're at work.
What does a typical day look like?
A consistent routine of play, learning, meals and rest, with yoga classes, outdoor time and indoor and outdoor field trips. See daily life for a walk through the day.
Safety & support
Are you licensed?
Yes. Little Otters is a licensed child care centre under Alberta's Early Learning and Child Care Act. Our licence is posted at the centre, and you can look up any licensed program, including its compliance history, with Alberta's Childcare Lookup Tool.
What are your staff-to-child ratios?
We follow Alberta's ratios for licensed daycares: 1 educator for every 3 infants under 12 months, 1:4 for 12–19 months, 1:6 for 19 months–3 years, 1:8 for 3-year-olds and 1:10 for children 4 and up. See safety & trust.
Can you support my child's extra needs?
We're an inclusive centre. We work directly with FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities) and with the GRIT and PUF programs, including support for speech development. Tell us about your child and we'll talk through how we can help.

A tour is the best way to choose a daycare. Walk the rooms, meet the team and ask anything. It takes about 20 minutes.
