Daycare for parents who work in Nisku or at the airport

October 23, 2026 · 4 min read · Little Otters Daycare

Leduc sits right beside two of the region's biggest workplaces: the Nisku business park and Edmonton International Airport. That's great for jobs and tricky for child care, especially with early starts, shift work and kids at different schools. Here's how to plan care that fits a Nisku or airport workday.

Start with your route, not the centre

Map the drive from home to work and look for care that's on the way, not across town. A centre close to a main route into Nisku saves you a daily detour. Little Otters is at 4413 48 Street in Leduc; see the map.

Ask about opening and closing times

Ask every centre exactly when the doors open and close, and what happens if you're late because of traffic or a delayed shift. Get the answer in writing before you enrol.

Let the centre do the driving

If you start before school does, the school drop-off is the hardest part of the day. Some centres, including Little Otters, drive children to and from school and offer pickup and drop-off from home, so one stop in the morning covers everyone.

Keep siblings together

A baby, a preschooler and a grade-two student at three different places means three drop-offs. A centre with infant care through out-of-school care under one roof turns that into one. See our five programs.

Skip the lunch packing

When you're out the door before sunrise, a centre that cooks lunch on site is a real time-saver. At Little Otters, hot lunch is cooked here daily, with an evening snack before pickup.

Stay in the loop from work

Ask how you'll hear about your child's day. Little Otters shares photos and notes through the Lillio app, so you can check in on a break.

A tour is the best way to choose a daycare. Walk the rooms, meet the team and ask anything. It takes about 20 minutes.
